What’s New with VetRec: October 2024 - Dental Charts and more

Well there goes another month! Hope everyone is staying warm as the temperatures are going down. Here in Seattle, we are seeing a bit more rain with scattered sun. Ready to start taking some Vitamin D 🙂.

What’s New

🎛️ Team Controls

Since day one, we built VetRec to be a collaborative experience, one that provides the greatest value when used together by all staff in clinics and hospitals. To help improve collaboration experiences, especially in large hospitals, we are introducing Team Controls. This allows administrator to configure VetRec including role-based access controls, default templates, editing controls, etc.

🦷 Dental Charts

We have been diligently working to bring Dental Charts to VetRec and today we are ready to share what we have in store. Access will be rolling out to users in the coming weeks. Here are the top points:

  • Both Canine and Feline charts are available
  • Visualize key tooth states including missing, to be extracted, evaluated, etc.
  • Teeth to be extracted have a BIG X on top of them, super easy to read
  • And yes, it works with the magic of VetRec. Simply dictate your exam and let VetRec do its thing.

📊 Usage Analytics for teams

In September, we launched our Team Analytics. We are excited to announce they are now available across all organizations. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback! We will be rolling out additional updates in the coming months including our anticipated launch of Insights.

More goodies

  • 💿 Upload Recording: Upload to VetRec any recording from your VoIP system or made with the recorder app on your phone to generate notes
  • 🔤 Spellings and Abbreviations: Let VetRec know what common spelling mistakes we are making and any abbreviations you commonly use, so the system will use them moving forward.
  • 🐎 Equine Templates: New addition to our template library are three Equine templates for colic, purchase exam, and physical. A BIG thank you to Dr. Tannetje Crocker for creating these!
  • 🤖 Regenerate notes with instructions: Provide instructions to VetRec during notes re-generation to improve or fix any issues. (e.g. re-format a field, deduplicate content or add a missing piece of information) Learn more: Regenerate Notes
  • 🚀 First time user experience allows for new users to get a taste of VetRec by going through an interactive walkthrough. (And YES, it can be skipped if you prefer to dive directly in!)

What are we working on?

🐾 Multi-pet support

To better support all kinds of situations vets see every day, we are adding improved support for multiple pets. Our goal is that you can record once and let VetRec figure out the information for each pet and generate individual notes for each.

📁 Multi-document support

Sometimes you want to generate several documents off a single visit. That today requires you to overwrite any existing documents. Not cool, we know. To enable better workflows, we will be allowing you to generate multiple documents for a single visit. For example, on a single visit you will be able to have multiple documents like a medical record, a surgery report, an abdominal ultrasound report, a client discharge summary, and a kid’s story ;). All under the same visit!

📞 Phone Call Notes

Let VetRec help with generating summaries and notes from phone calls to client. Simply connect VetRec to the call and let VetRec process the information. Add recordings directly into existing visits or create standalone notes for a call.

🖼️ Image Support in Records Recap

To better enable you to use Records Recap for all your notes (including handwritten notes!), we are working to support summarizing information from images that are present in PDFs you upload!

💰 Referral Program

Some of you may have heard already but we have a super-friendly referral program for all of our VetRec users 🙂

How does it work?

  • You share VetRec with a friend/colleague/hospital.
  • They sign up for a 2-week trial and use it and love it like you do.
  • If they end up paying for VetRec you will receive 50% of the first month’s payment.
    • If you refer us to a hospital, there is no cap on the amount of referral bonus you will get. Meaning, if you refer us to a hospital and they end up paying $5000 a month, you will get $2500 no questions asked!

You can participate by filling this 10-second form!
